Jeffreys Bay is one of the fastest growing places in the world and is expanding rapidly every year. From a fishing village with only 20 houses in the early 1940's, it has grown into a vibrant town and tourist attraction. Jeffrey Bay is well-known worldwide for its perfect waves for surfing. Located approximately 14 km from Humansdorp, it is also close to the beautiful village of St. Francis Bay, which is known as "African Venice". The Billabong Pro is a cult sport event and is one of 5 Master Surfing Events. We have our "Shell Festival" each year as well as numerous sporting events such as rally, fast car driving, skateboarding events, golf tournaments, beach volleyball, fishing, triathlon etc. Since Jeffreys Bay practically has no factories, it has clean air and sea water which has secured "Blue Flag Status". The town has 20 000 inhabitants and currently one of the biggest malls in the country was finished in 2009. Jeffreys Bay is situated next to the N2 highway. It is located around 70 km from Port Elizabeth and 650 km from Cape Town. Another one of the advantages of Jeffreys Bay is that it is located at the beginning of the 'Garden Route', which is the most visited tourist attraction on the South African Coast.
Safaris and National Parks are the Addo Elephant National Park, Tsitsikamma National Park, Baviaanskloof, Kragga Kamma Lion Park, Shamwari Game Reserve, Kwantu Game Reserve and National Park and the Robberg Coastal Park. The top golf courses are St. Francis Links, Pezula, Simola, Fancourt, Goose Valley, Fish River Sun, Royal Port Alfred, Oubaai, Pinnacle Point, Bushmans Sands, Knysna. Good golf courses are Zwartenbosch in Humansdorp, Jeffreys Bay Country Club, St.Francis, Fynbos, Walmer and Little Walmer and Hankey Golf Club.
