There is a guest toilet and two full bathrooms as well as an outdoor shower with hot and cold water to wash off the beach sand before going indoors.
Not too big: but big enough. The house being North-facing is warm in the winter and cool in the summer and looks out onto a water wise garden of indigenous plants, watered by a sprinkler system that supplements the rainfall. Enjoy the frequent visits from the small bushbuck, tortoise, and pheasant and catch a little field mouse scurrying across the gravel.
Views from the bedroom and lounge catch glimpses of the sea beyond to beaker view, north towards Mossel Bay and south towards Fransmanshoek. An easy +_500m walk to the beach where you will find miles of sandy beach and warm, Indian Ocean waves to fish or swim in. Take a picnic down to the beach on a moonlit evening and watch the moon play in the waves like liquid silver and contemplate the fresh mussels one is able to pick when the moon is full.
Boggoms Bay is part of a conservation area that runs from Mossel Bay along the cliffs, past Dana Bay, Moquini, Springer Bay, Boggoms Bay, Vlees Bay to Fransmanshoek. It is a beautiful, wild and natural area where buck forage in your garden and the local 9-hole golf course has sand greens!
By design, the nearest village shop is about 7km away in Vlees Bay and in Dana Bay or the Langeberg Mall about 20kms north. It’s safe and quiet, with gorgeous sandy beaches, warm ocean for swimming and good fishing.
This is old fashioned, holiday stuff where the kids make a bonfire on the beach and play guitar and count the stars and the parents relax with a glass of wine and good conversation, or play board games.
If you are looking for the fast pace and city lights, this place is not for you; but, if it’s a relaxing holiday you are after, you will not be disappointed. Come and see for yourself!
