Edition 11 of 2004, Friday 26 March 2004
This week we place the focus on "trend spotting" at the 30th Nederburg Auction that is coming up next week and indeed not be missed.
"The 30th Nederburg Auction of Fine South African Wines will prove a litmus test for market interest in the Cape's big red blends. Making up almost 25% of all wines going under the hammer on 2/3 April 2004, the prices fetched by flagship red blends will be in the spotlight at this year's landmark event. The selling of vintages from the 1990's by inter alia Veenwouden, Vergelegen, Rust en Vrede and Stellenzicht are likely to set record prices. Or could deflationary trends in current wine prices impact on rare vintages too?" says Graham Howe
We stay with the "wines" and take a look at architecture in
the Cape Winelands and. We also take a stop in STELLENBOCH, a town
for all seasons. You can continue your journey by clicking on the link
at the bottom of the article. Enjoy!
"Home is where the heart is." I just love this statement and had to share it with you the reader and under Have Fun this week.

Inflation may put pressure on rentals this year
PERHAPS the two most important risks facing the property sector, both listed and unlisted, this year are an inflationary environment and poor co-ordination of vacancy marketing by property managers.
This is the view of Jonathan Smith, a director of property strategists Courtwell Consulting, who delivered a presentation on property-sector risks to property representatives at a business breakfast in Sandton recently.

|>> Check your sectional title rule!|
There are many owners or tenants of sectional title units that are not
aware of the rules of their particular complex. Says Anthony van
der Riet, Managing Director of REALTY EXECUTIVES South Africa.
It is very disturbing to hear that there are buyers or tenants that move into a sectional title complex, only to find out that the rules of the complex prohibits them from having pets or that the visitors are not allowed to park inside the complex etc. to name but a few rules that one can encounter.

Thinking place - What makes a home a home?
What defines a home? For one person it might be a studio apartment, rather austere in nature, another person might want a farm in the country, and a third a mansion in the Hollywood Hills. Each person is different. But for all of us, the home is sacred space and a major influence in our lives. We create our home as a reflection of who we are and what we dream, and as a place for nurturing and rejuvenation. Your home reflects both the life you have lived and the one you want to live...

Finance minister regularly doles out cash for seaside super-mansion
ONE of Robert Mugabe's most trusted senior ministers has been secretly visiting Cape Town to fund the construction of a spectacular seaside mansion, fuelling speculation that he is actually over seeing the palace on behalf of the Zimbabwean president.
Christopher Kuruneri, promoted to finance minister during Mugabe's Cabinet reshuffle last month, has been paying for the multimillion-rand project in cash despite strict rules in Zimbabwe that limit the export of foreign exchange...

Fast becoming the most flexible and dynamic media of all. Expensive and challenging to originate but this is where all advertising and customer communications are headed, because the advantages and cost-to-value factors are so great. It's now perfectly feasible to produce all sales literature and brochures, plus lots more besides, in user-friendly, inter-active digital format. Conventional printed sales material are steadily becoming obsolete, and in ten years time the printed brochure will be a real rarity.
