Dear Reader,

Last week saw a standoff between two economists at the YDL Property market update held in Sandton, one proclaiming SA to be in a property bubble while the other claiming the beginning of a sustained boom. Dave Welman's - The Property Game take a closer look at the subject "Bubble war"

This week saw New York property tycoon Donald Trump on Wednesday unveiled his design for "bigger, stronger and better" twin towers to replace the World Trade Centre originals that were destroyed on September 11 2001.

"The current downward trend in house price growth can probably be ascribed to the fact that housing has in general become less affordable, taking into account the high level of house prices and salary and wage increases of well below 10 percent in 2004," this is what Absa Group chief economist Christo Luus had to say.

Focus on, and we take a closer look at Edenvale, Gauteng, South Africa. Edenvale is situated close to 2 major highways and the Johannesburg International Airport is only about 15 minutes away making it feel very central. Edenvale has the atmosphere of a peaceful town and one often forgets just how close it is to the city and all the bustling routes

PLETT HISTORY - JOACHIN VAN PLETTENBERG

In 1778, the governor of the colony, Joachin van Plettenberg made his historic journey to Plettenberg Bay. He left the Cape in a carriage drawn by 8 horses. There was also a second coach and 5 other wagons. With him on the first part of the journey was Captain Robert Jacob Gordon.

In November, the party visited Melkhout Kraal, which at that time belonged to Stephanus Esais Terblanche. Botha's farm was reached on the evening of the 5 November 1778. On the 6 th of November the historic demarcation stone, known as Van Plettenberg's

Beacon, was erected. The original stone has been removed to the Cultural History Museum in Cape Town and a replica now stands on the original site overlooking the bay. It was also during this time that Plettenberg Bay received it's present day name.
