Dear Reader

Dubai is quickly becoming a viable property investment bet for Kenyans and other foreigners, writes Millicent Muthoni. Those who know it fondly refer to it as the ninth wonder of the world.

Not me: Gareth Cliff thinks it’s a bad idea - SOUTH Africa’s first mixed-income housing development hits the market next month. For some it is a "maybe" and for others a "no go". Read more in Mixed income, mixed reaction what some of our celebrities had to say about it.

This week we have two articles on retirement and specifically change your house so that it fits frail care. "Many people who own large properties believe that the right thing to do as they age is to sell and put a chunk of the proceeds from their homes into policies that will pay out a monthly amount if they need frail care," says Berry Everitt, MD of Chas Everitt

Named after Lord Charles Somerset in 1819, Somerset West has thrived and is now the commercial and residential capital of the Helderberg Basin whilst maintaining its village atmosphere. The entire region is renowned for its scenic beauty, flora and fauna, wine and fruit, gastronomic experiences, friendly hospitality and historical heritage. Focus on Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa

Here is Me Pat Jewell from our offices seen receiving her stamp from DR. B.T Naidoo, Chairperson of the National Council for Persons
with Physical Disabilities in South Africa

In South Africa the statistics show that 10% of our population has some form of a disability. Yet, the services, projects and support for persons with disabilities are still so few that one cannot help but wonder what we can do to make it more accessible. For many years the Easter Stamp Campaign has been the most reliable fund raising campaigns nationally. The National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities in South Africa had to come up with a new solutions as stamps are not easy so often anymore. A serious of body stamps were introduced. GROWING up in a town like Somerset West, nothing irritated me more than always running into people I just did not feel like seeing.

Being the small town that it is one is almost always guaranteed that, while popping in at the local BP garage at 04:00 after returning from a night on the town looking your absolute worst for wear, ready to consume whichever pie has not yet been scoffed by previous purchasers, you will bump into a least one person who you know or who thinks they know you...
