Dear Reader
South African property owners are clever people! This is
the conclusion after the feedback we received on last week's
newsletter. Do you base your property purchase on market
factors? Are you one of those that think it through and plan?
Or, are you one of those emotional buyers that just do it?
Most answer that they will first look if they qualify for
buying a property and for how much they can buy in other words,
they first plan.
On the lighter side this week. Have you ever thought about
"adopting a road"? Iwesco a waste management Company
launched a campaign, Adopta Road, which is not only meant
to keep the roads clean but which will also make South African's
more environmental conscious. Read more in Project to

Headlines: Home valuations will start to climb again
while adjacent consumer industries will capture significant
new growth opportunities in 2012 and beyond as the U.S. housing
market finally turns the corner, concludes a major new study
released today by The Demand Institute. The recovery of the
housing market will have far-reaching impacts in the coming
years across the United States and international markets as
U.S. consumers increase their spending on buying, renovating,
furnishing and maintaining their homes. U.S. Housing
Market Finally Reaches a Turning Point
Market news: Except for some minor movements in the riskier
rental brackets at the higher and lower ends of the market,
it is comforting to note that residential rental payment trends
in the first quarter of 2012 have remained largely unchanged
since the latter half of 2011. Of course this isn't surprising
when viewed against the stability of interest rates and improvement
in the household debt to income ratio. The National Credit
Regulator's Credit Bureau Monitor remained unchanged overall
for the Q4 2011 period, with 53.8% of 19.34 consumers considered
to be in good standing. TPN Suggests modest outlook
for residential investors
Enjoy!
