Dear Reader

The Easter bunny is knocking on our doors! Easter is a time of celebrations and loads of fun. It’s also a time for most of us to take a break from work. The hike in the fuel price might have put a damper on the spirit for some and for others the good news about the house prices increase might have given them that extra reason to have fun. Whatever you will be doing this weekend, enjoy it and drive safely!

Headlines: House prices in March marked the highest year-on-year growth rate since June 2010, First National Bank said on Monday. "The FNB House Price Index showed a further slight acceleration in March, up from a revised February growth rate of 7.1 percent to eight percent year-on-year," said FNB property strategist John Loos. Market news: Knowledge Factory’s, SA Property Transfer Guide has kept its Property Clock unchanged this month. The Clock measures high-level national trends in the residential real-estate market. It retreated by five minutes in 2011 and has moved forward by one minute in March 2012. “Whether we like it or not, the real-estate sector will continue to reflect the broader brush-strokes of the macro-economy. With inflation simmering around the top-end of the target band, interest rates on hold for 2012 and job creation less spectacular than anticipated, the resumption of full-bore buying will have to wait a little longer”, Dieter Deppisch. Happy Easter!
