Dear Reader
All regular readers of our www.cyberprop.com
newsletter should know that I like to measure the South African
property market against the vehicle sales. For last month the
Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA) reported
that vehicle makers sold 43,588 units - a decline of 2,002 units or
4.4% - of new vehicles compared to 45,590 of the corresponding month
last year. But where does that leaves us with the property
market?
According to a survey done by Homenet the market is balancing out.
"Clear evidence that the property market has settled
and is set for an upturn is the fact that the difference between
asking and selling prices has dropped back to normal levels of between
5 and 10 percent in most areas - from as much as 25 to 30 percent
in the middle of last year." Survey indicator suggests
market has settled
