Plettenberg Bay is definitely known for its beauty and unspoiled sandy beaches. “Plett”, as it’s known by the locals, is absolute bliss for nature lovers and property investors looking for a tranquil setting among indigenous forests and a mountainous backdrop, says Cheryl Anley, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Prime Properties, which services the Plettenberg Bay area.

It is easy to see why the Plett is one of South Africa’s prime holiday destinations with its superb climate and more than adequate amount of activities to choose from, whether you want to soak up the sun while whale watching or enjoy a meal at one of the many seaside restaurants overlooking the Indian Ocean - there is something for everyone.

“Plettenberg Bay offers property buyers a resort-like lifestyle and many local and foreign investors have chosen this ‘jewel of the Garden Route’ as their home. We have a number of buyers looking to purchase holiday homes and primary residences in the bay. The many species of dolphins and whales, the Robberg Nature Reserve and Tsitsikamma National Park, coupled with proximity to amenities make the area attractive to investors,” says Anley.

According to Anley, many of the property investors are opting for secure estates due to the lifestyle benefits they provide. Buyers can enjoy nature and the ocean views, while still enjoying the secure lifestyle estates offer. The designs of many of the estates have taken the surroundings into consideration and careful attention has been paid to ensure that the aesthetics complement the natural beauty of the area.
