Talks and seminars on sectional title matters

Having recently moved into new premises at 200 on Main in Claremont, Propell, the sectional title levy management company, is reviving its programme of talks and seminars aimed at educating trustees, body corporate members and the general public in matters that affect sectional title schemes.

The first talks in the new series, says Propell’s sales manager, Catherine Cockcroft, will be given at Hellenic Soccer Club, Greenpoint on Saturday the 30th of October from 8:30am to noon. The speakers will be Simone Sulcas, a director of Propell, a qualified lawyer and expert in sectional title matters and John van der Spuy of Steer & Co which has a specialist sectional title management division.

Cockcroft commented that sectional title, although the fastest growing and most popular sector in the SA property market, is also the least understood – and the worst managed.

“The trustee system,” she said, “conforms to all the finest principles of democratic government – but it has placed people with little experience of property in positions of responsibility for which they do need coaching. We see it as our duty to provide this.”
