Edenvale is situated close to 2 major highways and the Johannesburg
International Airport is only about 15 minutes away making it feel very
central. Edenvale has the atmosphere of a peaceful town and one often
forgets just how close it is to the city and all the bustling routes.
DE
MOLEN / THE WINDMILL
The first time you notice the windmill in Van Riebeeck Avenue, Edenvale
you can't help but be amazed. 'De Molen' is a 3/4 size copy of the Zeldenrust
Molen in Holland.
De Molen was built in 1996. It is built over 'De Bakkery' to place
emphasis on the fact there was a Dutch baker in Edenvale. The buildings
in the lane next to the windmill are also in the Dutch style to carry
through the whole Dutch theme.
There is seating both inside and outside this lovely windmill. The
atmostphere inside is warm and cozy.
MODDERFONTEIN
Another part of Edenvale's history is evident when you drive through
the streets of Modderfontein.
Built in 1896 as the Headquarters of the Dynamite Company, the historical
character and charm of this area makes it a worthwhile place to pay
a visit to.
RICARDO
MULDER LIBRARY
The Ricardo Mulder Community Library was officially opened on 23 October
1993. The library has 3 floors, adult's reading, children's books and
the reference section.
This library is one of the most beatiful libraries that I have visited,
it is spacious and the use of natural light creates a wonderful relaxing
atmosphere.
