The
Chas Everitt International property group is gearing up to give a section
of the Durbanville Kinderhuis in Cape Town an extreme makeover in October.
This follows the hugely successful revamp of the Kids Haven on
the Gauteng East Rand last year and forms part of the groups community
involvement programme.
Group events and client services co-ordinator Tracey Everitt says two
semi-detached units housing 28 boys at the Durbanville Kinderhuis have
been chosen for this years project.
The project is based on the popular TV series Extreme Makeover:
Home Edition and the units will be completely revamped. Work will include
carpentry, retiling bathrooms, replacing sanitary ware, plumbing repairs,
painting and soft furnishings. We aim to make the homes functional and
comfortable at at the same time bright and cheerful.
While the project is underway from 14 to 18 October, the children will
be treated to a mini holiday in Muizenberg, sponsored by Die Burger newspaper.
Other sponsors that have signed up include Nedbank, Cyberagent, Plascon,
Betterbond, Dalton Plumbers, Avis and the attorney firms STBB and Dykes
Van Heerden. Everitt says the group is currently looking for companies
to sponsor carpentry, sanitary ware and tiles.
Chas Everitt International CEO Berry Everitt says the purpose of the
companys home makeover project is not only to change buildings but
also to change lives and in that way to create a cycle of hope
and help for others. Hard work and generous support from our sponsors
will, we hope, make a material difference to the quality of life of the
children living in House 11 and House 12 at the Durbanville Kinderhuis.
A website has been registered under the name www.ceihomemakeover.co.za
and it will track the progress of the project. Everitt says companies
interested in taking part as sponsors can also contact the Chas Everitt
International head office in Johannesburg on 011 801 2500.
