Problem property nets owner a Disney trip

An investment property that had languished on the market for more than a year earned Johannesburg businessman Jason Rowe more than he bargained for when he listed the home with Chas Everitt International.

Not only was his property sold in record time, but he also emerged the winner of the property group’s countrywide competition in which an all-expenses-paid trip for four to Disney World was up for grabs.

“The property was listed with three other agents but after a year on the market we had not received as much as one offer. I decided to list with the Chas Everitt office in Bryanston and, to my utter surprise, received an offer within 10 days of listing,” Rowe says.

“The property was sold within two weeks and the whole process was handled with the utmost efficiency and professionalism – every step of the transaction went like clockwork. And you can imagine my delight when I was informed that, on top of all this, my name was drawn as the winner of the Disney World competition.”

Rowe will take his wife and young son to Disney World in Florida at the end of the year and has invited his mother along to make up the foursome. “As a businessman I often have to travel but this is the first time that I will travel purely for pleasure – and what a pleasure it will be to travel as a family and take my son to Disney World,” he says.

The prize, valued at R150 000, was co-sponsored by the home loans department of Nedbank.
