Fireworks for Chas Everitt in Gansbaai
Chas Everitt International entered the property market of Gansbaai in the Overberg region with a bang recently when its four local agents listed a total of 107 properties in their first week of operation.

"This success can be attributed to the impact of the professional Chas Everitt International offering and the fact that we were lucky enough to recruit local agents of high standing," says Pat McLoughlin, owner of the franchise that has expanded its operations from Hermanus to Gansbaai .

"These agents have extensive experience in the local market and because they are in a position to give clients sound advice have notched up many sales and now listed more than 250 properties.

"We have also appointed a dedicated rental agent for residential as well as holiday accommodation in Gansbaai, and a dedicated sales agent for nearby Pearly Beach."

McLoughlin says that property in Gansbaai, a holiday town about 40km from Hermanus, offers excellent value.

"On average prices are about half those in Hermanus. Stands are still available from about R350 000 and inland homes from about R750 000, in contrast to starting prices of R800 000 for stands and R1,42m for homes in Hermanus."

Meanwhile, prices of beachfront properties in Gansbaai start at around the R2m mark.

Demand for property in the town is accordingly healthy and a number of new developments are in the planning stages. McLoughlin expects these developments to come to the market in the next 18 to 36 months.
