THE SOUTH AFRICAN INSTITUTE OF BLACK PROPERTY PRACTITIONERS (SAIBPP) ANNOUNCES IT’S REPOSITIONING IN THE PROPERTY INDUSTRY

Property in South Africa is one of the fastest growing sectors in the South African economy with massive developments occurring over the past couple of years.

With this changing environment and the introduction of industry charters, it is fast becoming critical to ensure that black practitioners are represented and play a meaningful role in the mainstream economy.

The South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners was formed in July 1996 and registered as a company under section 21 of the Companies Act of 1973 in May 1997.

The South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners’ (SAIBPP) vision is to be a leader in the transformation of the property sector, ensuring that previously disadvantaged people play an active role in the property industry, especially black woman and students whose studies are leaning towards the property industry.

One of the main objectives of the SAIBPP amongst others, is skills development, which is essential in ensuring that previously disadvantaged people benefit and actively participate in the property sector. It has implemented career guidance and educational programmes including bursaries and scholarships for their members to broaden their expertise and knowledge plus awareness and entrepreneur programmes targeted to their audience.

SAIBPP’s purpose is to facilitate growth for its members by developing innovative strategies between the SAIBPP membership base and business in general.

SAIBPP 2007 CONVENTION

The South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners will host its 2007 convention at the Theatre on the Track on 20 April 2007.

The primary objective for hosting the 2007 SAIBPP Convention is to look at how the industry has transformed in the past ten years and also look at what the second wave of transformation in the property sector has in store for the organisation and its members.

The convention, which is expecting to draw approximately 200 delegates from the property sector and related industries, is the most prestigious event on the SAIBPP calendar.
