Property News - 22 May 2015

FROM THE EDITOR

Great news for property owners and investors is that South African Reserve Bank (Srab) Governor, Lesetja Kganyago, has announced yesterday that interest rates will remain unchanged. Kganyago says the South African economy is stable but electricity, wage settlements and a volatile rand threaten the country’s inflation outlook.

The governor says the inflation rate is vulnerable while the MPC appears to be almost divided on the issue of rates, with two members voting in favour of a 25 basis points hike, with four against.

Two of our subscribers have taken on the task of running the distance of 10 Comrades Marathons in 10 consecutive days to raise funds for PETS (Pet Empowerment in Townships). They plan to run the 90km Comrades distance each day consecutively, for the 9 days leading up to the epic ultra marathon, culminating with competing in the Comrades on the 31st may 2015.
