FROM THE EDITOR

In this week's Newsletter, we take a look at a sensitive but yet important topic that should be attended to with urgency; Will. Question: Have you considered what will happen to your home and other assets when you pass away? Are your affairs in order? Read an article titled Are you ready for the unexpected? for more of this subject.

Still on that point, if you own foreign (offshore) assets, you may be asking whether you need to have more than one will. The issue arises because the provisions of a will made in one jurisdiction may not necessarily be recognised in another. Familiarise yourself with international civil law jurisdictions by reading an article named Where there’s a will below.

What if someone told you that for as little as US$100 (about R1 070) you could get a share of the profits made from buying and selling well-priced properties in the United States, what would you do? To help you with a smart decision, read an article called, Beware of property-flipping scheme.

Bill Rawson, Chairman of the Rawson Property Group says that every now and then, he is approached by a home owner who has had a large section of the view from their home reduced or obliterated by a neighbour deciding either to extend their home. Read Regrettably, blocking another person's view is not always illegal to find out why he says that.

Last but not least, if your idea of a perfect holiday is waking up to both the sound of the surf on the beach and the cry of the Fish Eagle, then Zinkwazi Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast is the place for you. Learn more about this area in an article titled More buyers seeking out Zinkwazi.

Enjoy!
