FROM THE EDITOR

Although the South Peninsula fires are presently under control. Firefighters are monitoring and maintaining hotspot areas, which include Clovelly, Monkey Valley in Noordhoek and Eagle's Nest in Constantia.

Thousands of hectares of land has been laid to waste by the fire which broke out on Sunday. It swept through a number of areas completely gutting at least three homes in Tokai and Noordhoek.

A number of other houses and structures were also damaged and hundreds of people fled their homes as a precaution.

We at Tivvit would like to commend the bravery and professionalism of all the firefighters who are putting their own lives at risk to attend to this fire while saving lives and stopping the damage to property and our prestigious natural environment.

Enjoy!
